When a man whose greatest contribution to American culture is rhyming “thing” with “thing” on repeat decides to weigh in on demographic trends, you’d expect maybe a cringe tweet. Instead, we got a full-blown televised tantrum masquerading as social commentary.
Appearing on Fox News’ Ministry of Mediocrity (also known as Jesse Watters’ show), Kid Rock blamed the country’s declining birthrate not on economic precarity, housing instability, skyrocketing healthcare costs, or work-life imbalance—but on liberal women being too unattractive to breed with.
His words, not mine.
"You look at these rallies, and it’s like a bunch of women that no guy wants to sleep with..."
Let’s pause right there. Imagine thinking democracy rallies are dating pools. Imagine assuming the function of political resistance is to be sexually appealing to aging rock stars. This is caveman-level logic wrapped in a leather jacket and pickled in Miller Lite.
Let’s set aside the sexist bile and focus on the intellectual laziness of this take. Birthrates are falling all across the developed world—not because women dyed their hair blue, but because the system isn’t sustainable. Wages are stagnant. Childcare is unaffordable. Climate collapse looms large.
But Kid Rock would rather blame a woman with a nose ring and a master's degree in political science than admit maybe—just maybe—people don’t want to bring kids into a world where Tucker Carlson is treated like a philosopher.
And let’s be honest: if America’s birthrate depended on the reproductive prowess of boozy has-beens like Kid Rock, we’d be extinct by now.
If you thought the idiocy stopped there, buckle up. The conversation then pivoted to James Comey’s now-deleted post that included the numbers “86-47,” which Fox and Kid Rock immediately interpreted as a death threat against Trump. Because why not? When in doubt, throw in an assassination conspiracy to really get the MAGA blood pumping.
Here’s the kicker:
"I might send out a drunk tweet... I'm in a rock band!"
That’s your defense? You’re in a rock band? As if being musically irrelevant gives you a hall pass to spray misogyny and paranoia on national television?
This is where America finds itself: a place where national birthrate policy is being debated by a man who once made a career shouting "bawitdaba da bang da bang diggy diggy" and a TV host whose journalistic credibility is on par with InfoWars’ fashion editor.
Their audience eats it up because it's easy. Blame women. Blame liberals. Blame anyone but the system of exploitation and fear that actually created this mess.
If you think we can afford to laugh this off, think again. The Right is mainstreaming stupid at such a velocity that the Overton Window has shattered. The less sense they make, the more influence they gain. It's a strategy—and it's working.
We fight back not by stooping to their level, but by exposing the rot, mocking their absurdity, and building a new culture of solidarity and sanity.
