NYC’s Socialist Pipe Dream: Why Mamdani’s Marxist Agenda Deserves to Die on the Vine

The Fantasy of “Free”

You’ve got Zohran Mamdani, a 33-year-old democratic socialist, trying to hijack the economic engine of the United States—New York City—and convert it into a Soviet-style museum piece. He’s promising “free” public transportation, “free” groceries via state-run stores, and rent freezes so tight they’d make a North Korean landlord blush.

But here’s the catch—nothing is free. Every cent Mamdani wants to give away is a cent taken at gunpoint from someone else. That’s how government works: coercion disguised as compassion.

Bessent’s Warning: A Rare Moment of Government Sanity

Scott Bessent—former Wall Street player turned Treasury Secretary—finally said what most bureaucrats are too spineless to admit: if Mamdani implements his socialist manifesto, NYC’s finances will nosedive, and the feds will not—should not—bail them out. “Drop dead,” he said, echoing Gerald Ford’s infamous line from the 1970s. And for once, the ghost of Gerald Ford got it right.

Death Spiral Economics

Let’s not mince words. Mamdani’s plan isn’t “affordable”—it’s an economic suicide pact wrapped in woke branding. What he’s selling is Marxism in municipal drag. Centralized food systems? Ask Venezuela how that’s going. Frozen rents? Look at San Francisco’s zombie real estate. Free buses? Sure, until they can’t afford to run and you’re standing in the rain waiting for a ghost fleet.

The Great Escape Has Already Begun

And Bessent’s warning about the tax base fleeing? That’s already happening. Manhattan’s wealth is migrating south faster than a flock of snowbirds on meth. You think Palm Beach is booming by accident? It’s escaping the high-tax, high-regulation madness of blue cities run by ideologues like Mamdani.

The Real Agenda: Collapse and Control

But here’s the kicker: Mamdani and his ilk want collapse. They want the system to fail so they can rebuild it in their image—top-down, centrally controlled, and devoid of liberty. It’s classic Cloward-Piven: overload the system until it breaks, then sweep in with the “solution.” And that “solution” always looks a lot like tyranny.

The only answer to this madness is radical decentralization. Get your money out of cities run by socialists. Ditch the central banks and their FedNow surveillance tools. Learn to live without the state’s teat. Because once people like Mamdani are in charge, the only thing that’s free is your descent into poverty.
