If there’s one thing the federal government excels at, it’s wasting your money. Enter DOGE, which—despite being an advisory body—has unleashed an efficiency rampage that agencies are actually acting on. Here’s where the cuts are hitting the hardest:
Turns out, Uncle Sam is America’s worst landlord. The General Services Administration (GSA) sits on 28 million square feet of vacant or mostly vacant buildings. That’s 140 city blocks in Manhattan collecting dust while taxpayers foot the bill. Meanwhile, D.C. alone hoards 3 million square feet of government office space—much of it unused.
So far, DOGE has recommended scrapping 97 federal building leases and putting other properties up for disposal. The bureaucrats hate this because empty buildings = justification for bigger budgets. But Musk and his team are forcing a reckoning—and this is just a warm-up.
The government is obsessed with spending billions on "modernization projects" that go nowhere. Example? The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) blew through $5 million trying to revamp its website. If completed, the hosting alone would have cost $400,000 a year—versus the $1,000 it costs now. DOGE called it out, and the project was axed.
Then there’s the software waste. DOGE flagged 114,000 unused software licenses and 15 redundant applications, saving $9.6 million annually. Just imagine how much more dead weight is still buried in the system.
Washington has been throwing billions at DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) scams, and DOGE is bringing the axe down hard. Here’s just a taste of what’s been defunded so far:
The message is clear: If a program exists purely to push woke ideology, it’s on the chopping block.
The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) has been nothing but a globalist slush fund for decades. Under Musk’s oversight, the agency has already lost $5.2 billion in taxpayer dollars that were set to be funneled into God-knows-what. And that’s just the start.
Foreign aid isn’t being cut across the board, but it’s being radically reorganized under Trump’s America-first policy. The big losers? Wasteful climate finance projects like the $37 million "Pacific Islands Climate Fund" and the $1.9 billion tech boondoggle at the IRS.
Naturally, the Washington establishment is furious. They’re crying that Musk’s efficiency drive is "illegal" and "risky." Translation? They’re terrified of losing control.
The federal government has been a self-perpetuating parasite for decades—expanding its reach, wasting trillions, and demanding more every year. Musk’s DOGE project is proving what we’ve all known: the swamp can be drained, and the waste is even worse than we thought.
But here’s the thing: $65 billion is just a drop in the bucket. With a national debt of $34 trillion and a government that burns through $6.1 trillion a year, real change requires gutting the system at its core.
Trump and Musk are taking the first steps. Now it’s time for YOU to prepare for what comes next.
