According to California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire) and subsequent analyses, tens of thousands of structures were destroyed or damaged across the Palisades and Eaton fires combined, and federal disaster aid requests topped $33.9 billion amid the staggering toll of lost homes and livelihoods. People died. Families fled. But the kicker? The whole thing could’ve been stopped cold—if the government hadn’t tied the hands of firefighters with eco‑radical nonsense. This tragic outcome is a stark example of California wildfire government failure, where bureaucratic hurdles and misguided priorities contributed to catastrophic loss.

Turns out, the blaze wasn’t even a new fire. It was a rekindled ember from an earlier arson fire that state authorities refused to extinguish. Why?

Because some bureaucrat was worried about disturbing “endangered plants.”
