Entrenched Power: The Deep State’s Grip on the 2024 Election

The headlines from legacy media are setting the stage: yet again, with elections around the corner, we hear the familiar refrain of foreign “malign actors”—Russia, China, and Iran—sowing chaos to destabilize our so-called democratic process. But let’s look closer at this narrative. Why, with our own nation spiraling into deeper fractures, is the blame so easily pointed overseas? The establishment seems eager to externalize our unrest, as if our domestic troubles are purely the product of meddling adversaries.

In Pennsylvania, notorious for its contested 2020 results, there are already reports of tampered voter registration forms and fraudulent mail-in applications surfacing. But rather than seeing this as cause for alarm, election officials are dismissing these incidents, assuring us that “the system worked.” Forgive me if I’m skeptical. If these issues point to anything, it’s that our system is teetering on the edge of credibility, increasingly vulnerable to breakdown and exploitation.

The mainstream’s favorite buzzword since 2016—“sowing”—is used to pin all doubt and discord on the same cast of external villains. Ironically, each attempt by the media to manufacture our trust only deepens the doubt. The past eight years have made it glaringly obvious that our democracy, as it stands, is crumbling. Yet neither major party seems prepared to lose, and it’s hard to see any limits to what they’ll do to maintain power.

The Shattered Illusion of Democracy

The mess we face isn’t solely foreign in origin. Our own political elite have overseen this decay, strangling democracy’s remnants in pursuit of power. Both parties share blame here, but the Democrats bear a particular responsibility since 2016, when their dream of uncontested dominance shattered with Hillary Clinton’s unexpected defeat. The liberal establishment hasn’t recovered, retreating instead into authoritarian tactics under a guise of democracy.

In truth, American liberalism has long harbored a streak of illiberalism, as Alexis de Tocqueville once warned. Our “tolerant” society demands conformity, not independent thought. Since 2016, we’ve watched this unfold as liberalism turned into “soft despotism” at best and “apple-pie authoritarianism” at worst.

Institutional Rot from the Inside Out

Three key pillars of our nation—the judiciary, intelligence agencies, and mainstream media—have all been corrupted to favor one party, rendering them untrustworthy and placing us squarely on a path toward a failed state.

The Justice Department, under the leadership of Attorney General Merrick Garland, has shown clear bias, manipulating the legal system to shield those in power while targeting dissent. The FBI’s role in the Russiagate conspiracy is just the beginning. With each politically charged indictment or selective silence, they prove their allegiance not to the people but to the party.

The military and intelligence community, long aligned with the Democrats since Trump’s vow to drain the swamp, now operate openly within our political process. We’ve seen generals and intelligence heads defy their civilian commander and later denounce him, underlining that they never intended to serve an elected president but rather their own establishment interests.

And the media? Our so-called “free press” is now a mouthpiece for the very powers it should scrutinize. Instead of exposing corruption, it amplifies narratives designed to secure the status quo.

The Shadow of the Deep State

As we inch toward election day, ask yourself: Do those entrenched in the Deep State—the career bureaucrats, intelligence operatives, and military brass—truly care about democratic integrity? Look at history: ask the people of Chile, Guatemala, or Iran. These forces have no allegiance to democracy; they are guardians of empire and privilege.

The unsettling question remains: Will they allow this election to be won or lost by a simple vote count? This is no abstract question; it’s one rooted in recent history, particularly the events of 2020. The treatment of the Hunter Biden laptop scandal and its overt suppression by media, tech giants, and intelligence officials amounted to undeniable election interference. And now, we’re seeing familiar patterns again, casting doubt on whether a fair election is even possible.

Democracy Under Siege

Now, as we watch reports of election fraud from Pennsylvania and elsewhere, mainstream media is quick to blame “sowing” tactics from political outsiders like Trump. Yet, we hear little of the blatant corruption that undermines our system from within, nor of the canvassing groups reportedly involved in submitting fraudulent registrations in Pennsylvania. Where is the transparency?

At this stage, with both major parties so dug in, it’s hard to see how anyone will accept the results without unrest. Polls are already showing that half the population fears post-election violence. If we, the people, cannot even trust the outcome of our own elections, where does that leave us? The stage is set for more chaos, and our so-called democratic institutions are eroding from the inside.
