Cut the Cord: Foreign Aid Is Just Globalist Welfare

EDITOR'S NOTES

The foreign aid racket is nothing but a globalist money-laundering scheme, propping up puppet regimes and fueling endless wars. Trump’s decision to pause foreign aid is a step in the right direction, but let’s be real—pauses don’t mean much when the war machine is still well-fed. The military-industrial complex and its political lapdogs won’t let their overseas cash cows starve. And the so-called “humanitarian aid” programs? Just a cover for Washington’s global meddling and censorship operations. If Trump is serious about an America First policy, he needs to gut foreign aid entirely—including military aid. But will he? History suggests otherwise.

On January 20th, the Trump administration made waves by hitting the brakes on foreign aid for 90 days. Secretary of State Marco “Little Marco” Rubio, ever the politician, confirmed the move, announcing a freeze on all new USAID obligations pending a “review.” Rubio even hinted at permanently shuttering USAID, folding it into the State Department—a solid idea, though it barely scratches the surface of this bloated, corrupt institution.

Credit where it’s due: Trump’s put more aid on hold than any modern president. But let’s not throw a parade just yet. The foreign aid system has long been a pipeline of taxpayer dollars funneled into foreign corruption, globalist agenda-pushing, and outright war propaganda. USAID, in particular, is a Trojan horse, masquerading as a humanitarian effort while operating as Washington’s censorship and regime-change arm. Any libertarian, nationalist, or realist should see foreign aid for what it truly is—bribery and blackmail with a patriotic sticker slapped on top.

The Glaring Omissions: Military Aid and Establishment Loopholes

Of course, the establishment never lets a good reform go unspoiled. Trump’s executive order conveniently spares military aid—the real jackpot for defense contractors and war hawks. Hundreds of billions still flow to Israel, Ukraine, and Taiwan, ensuring America stays entangled in every major conflict. Ukrainian President Zelensky has already confirmed that his regime will continue to receive its usual handouts, and Trump himself just authorized a $1 billion arms package for Israel. So much for “America First.”

As if that weren’t bad enough, Rubio is making sure the aid freeze is riddled with exceptions. So-called “life-saving” aid continues, and USAID loyalists are lobbying for even more carveouts. In reality, this just means the money laundering machine keeps running under the guise of “humanitarian efforts.” Nothing new.

If Trump was serious about cutting foreign aid, he’d slash military aid, too. He’d tell Israel, Ukraine, and Taiwan to fend for themselves. Cutting off the tap would not only reduce the deficit—it would also make future entanglements in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and East Asia far less likely. After all, it’s harder to sell the American public on another proxy war when they’re not already financially invested.

Foreign Aid: A Money Pit with No ROI

Let’s talk numbers. America’s national debt is an eye-watering $36 trillion, with interest alone burning through over $1 trillion annually. Yet, every year, Washington throws tens of billions at foreign countries, expecting… what, exactly? The return on investment is abysmal.

Take Pakistan, for example. Since 1947, it has received hundreds of billions in U.S. aid, yet its economy has remained a mess. The country’s biggest GDP jump actually occurred when American aid was at its lowest. Meanwhile, when aid peaked again from 2008-2010, Pakistan’s economy flatlined. The pattern is clear: no-strings-attached aid doesn’t develop nations—it turns them into dependent welfare states.

And then there’s USAID’s more sinister operations. This agency doesn’t just waste money; it actively meddles in foreign politics. A former State Department official blew the whistle on USAID’s funding of NGOs in Brazil designed to manipulate the country’s political landscape. Brazilian journalist David Agape further exposed how USAID uses “humanitarian” and “anti-disinformation” campaigns as cover for pushing Washington’s agenda. In Ecuador, USAID-backed prosecutors targeted political opponents, while in Afghanistan, the agency literally helped cultivate poppy fields. These are not accidents. They’re policy.

Will Trump Follow Through?

Despite Trump’s rhetoric, history tells us not to hold our breath. His first term saw record aid to Israel, continued money pipelines to Ukraine, and the infamous Abraham Accords, which shackled the U.S. to even more foreign aid commitments. Even if he closed USAID tomorrow, it would save the government a measly 0.6% of its budget. That’s pocket change compared to what’s wasted on defense and social spending.

The real issue? The Republican establishment is addicted to defense spending. Even if Trump wanted to slash the Pentagon’s budget, the war hawks in his own party wouldn’t let it happen. The GOP loves talking about cutting foreign aid—but when it comes to the military-industrial complex, they suddenly lose their fiscal conservatism.

If Trump truly wants to put America first, he needs to stop playing defense and go on the offensive against Washington’s war machine. That means not only gutting USAID but pulling the plug on military aid, exiting Middle Eastern entanglements, and slashing defense spending. Otherwise, this is just another election-year stunt.

The Bottom Line: Cut It All

Foreign aid isn’t charity. It’s bribery. It’s nation-building. It’s globalist control. It funds wars, destabilizes countries, and keeps America bogged down in conflicts that serve only the elite. And worst of all? It’s paid for with money we don’t have.

So let’s stop pretending. No half-measures. No “reviews.” If Trump wants to make history, he needs to cut all foreign aid—humanitarian, military, and everything in between. No more excuses. No more handouts. America doesn’t need to buy friends.

And if the globalist war machine doesn’t like it? Tough.
