Documentary Highlights Subversive Activities of the Soviet

EDITOR NOTE: The notion that countries use propaganda to deceptively reinforce certain domestic values or to destabilize the social and political fabric of rival countries is nothing new. The video you’re about to watch, that of Yuri Alexandrovich Bezmenov, a defected former Soviet propagandist and journalist, lays out the Russian propaganda machine and subversive activities in detail. Propaganda can often be seen a mile away, that is, if you have the critical faculty to differentiate truth from alternative truth or fiction. Apparently, and as early as 2016, Russia figured out that a large majority of Americans can easily sniff out foreign propaganda, but they can’t distinguish falsified information from potential truth when it appears to be coming from other Americans. So, they stir up social and political tensions to destabilize the US when they see an opportunity. At this point, we have to ask ourselves: are we, Americans, being “victimized” by Russian propaganda, or are we “inviting” them to allow us to see what we want to see in the way we want to see it?
