Texas Slams the Brakes on Sharia-Inspired ‘Epic City’ — Governor Abbott Says “Not in Our State!”

One thousand homes, K–12 Islamic schools, clinics, apartments, retail centers, and—wait for it—streets named after Islamic conquerors.

All under the watch of the East Plano Islamic Center (EPIC), one of the largest mosques in North Texas.

According to their own words, they wanted to show the world “what it means to be a Muslim in the West.”

But here’s the question real Americans are asking: What happens when that vision runs head-first into the U.S. Constitution?

Abbott Strikes Back

Governor Abbott heard the alarm bells and laid down the law. In a decisive post on X, Abbott declared that construction of EPIC City has been halted. Completely. Not just frozen — under criminal investigation by both state and federal agencies.

“There is no construction taking place,” Abbott confirmed.
“The state of Texas has launched about a half dozen investigations into this project. That includes criminal investigations.”

This is more than a zoning dispute. This is about foreign influence, domestic compliance, and whether the rule of American law will hold the line.

Senator Cornyn Sounds the Alarm on “Religious Apartheid”

Even Senator John Cornyn — no firebrand — raised constitutional concerns. In a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi, he warned that this master-planned “Muslim-only” community might violate the First and Fourteenth Amendments.

“A master-planned ‘community of thousands of Muslims’ could violate the constitutional rights of Jewish and Christian Texans,” Cornyn wrote,
adding that enforcement of sharia law must be investigated.

Read that again: Sharia law, not American law.

Streets Named After Islamic Conquerors?

Let that sink in. Supporters of EPIC City openly bragged on a podcast that streets would be named after Islamic warlords. Imagine if a Christian community tried naming streets after Crusaders — CNN would be at the gates with pitchforks.

And as for community funding?
75% of homeowner association fees would be funneled directly into the mosque.

This isn’t assimilation. It’s isolation. It’s Balkanization.
It’s a state within a state.
