The Kirk Assassination Proves Our Political System Is Already Dead

EDITOR'S NOTES

In the article, The Kirk Assassination Has Exposed Our Political Rot,” the author draws a straight line between the sanctioned, foreign-directed violence of the U.S. government and the emerging wave of unsanctioned domestic political killings. He’s right. But the rot is even deeper than most are willing to admit. This is not just about political violence—it’s about a state that’s long since lost its moral authority, now collapsing under the weight of its own lies, debts, and authoritarian overreach. My response below continues that line of thinking—because America needs a reckoning, not another moment of silence.

A System This Corrupt Was Always Going to Turn Violent

When the state begins to kill its own political class—whether by negligence, incitement, or covert encouragement—you know the curtain has dropped. The assassination of Charlie Kirk is not some isolated lunatic’s act, nor is it just the product of “online radicalization.” It is what happens when the political class cultivates a culture of hatred, silences dissent, and allows federal institutions to metastasize into opaque weapons of control. In that world, violence is not a bug—it’s a feature.

We were told the surveillance state was for our safety. The endless wars were for freedom. The inflation was "transitory." All lies. And when a generation realizes they’ve been economically neutered, socially divided, and politically discarded, someone eventually strikes back. That’s what this is. A consequence—not a cause.

Political Theater Has Become a Precursor to Bloodshed

O’Keeffe notes the now-infamous progressive meme, “Do the Thing”—a euphemism for political assassination. It didn’t come from nowhere. That kind of rhetoric was allowed, even encouraged, by those who spent the Trump years insisting we were on the verge of a fascist coup. Convenient, then, that none of them seemed particularly horrified when the bullets finally came.

The same political establishment that rushed to decry “misinformation” on COVID, vaccines, Ukraine, and election integrity is silent now. Why? Because they’re not shocked. They’re satisfied. These people never feared violence—they feared competition. And Kirk, love him or hate him, represented a rising populist threat to a class of career technocrats who cannot compete on ideas, only on control.

The Fed Has Robbed a Generation—Now That Generation Is Collapsing

One of O’Keeffe’s sharpest observations is that the disillusionment among young men is economic, not just ideological. Gen Z has inherited $34 trillion in national debt. They’ve watched the Federal Reserve hollow out the dollar while banks post record profits from asset bubbles they created with printed money. These young Americans know they’ve been robbed.

What they lack is direction. One faction drifts into nihilism and incoherent extremism. The other retreats into antidepressants and video games. Neither builds anything. This is a generational byproduct of fiat currency, broken education, and a surveillance society that tells them every thought is a crime and every job is a dead end.

The Left thinks UBI will fix this. The Right thinks voting harder will. They’re both wrong. The only solution is decentralization. A hard divorce from this Leviathan before it eats us all.

Decentralization or Destruction—There Is No Middle Ground

Let’s stop pretending that more elections, more spending, or more “unity” will solve this. The violence is a symptom. The disease is the centralization of power in Washington, D.C.—where unelected bureaucrats write policy, spies write news, and bankers write history.

The only way out is radical decentralization. Slash federal power, strip regulatory agencies of their teeth, defund the surveillance state, and return control of communities to the communities themselves.

Until then, the center will not hold. The Charlie Kirks of the world will not be the last political figures to die violently. Because when both sides view power as a do-or-die prize—and the state has made it that powerful—death becomes a political strategy.

The Real Enemy Is the Machine, Not Your Neighbor

We’ve been played. While we're busy blaming trans activists, MAGA boomers, or fringe accounts on social media, the real rot continues unabated in D.C. The real power doesn't wear a pink wig or a red hat—it wears a three-piece suit and works at Treasury, the Fed, or the alphabet soup of three-letter agencies quietly choking the republic.

It is the Federal Reserve debasing your savings.
It is the IRS tracking your $600 Venmo payments.
It is the FBI infiltrating your community groups.
It is the DOJ deciding which speech is "extremism."
It is the Pentagon building war plans for a civil conflict it knows is coming.

If we don't turn our eyes upward—at the machine, not across at each other—we're finished. What’s coming next won't look like the 1960s. It’ll look like Yugoslavia in slow motion.

Evil Exists—And It Wears a Government Badge

As O’Keeffe rightly concludes, we must be willing to name evil—and resist it boldly. That doesn’t mean rioting. It doesn’t mean assassination. It means walking away from the system before it crushes you. Build parallel economies. Move your money out of traditional banks. Hold hard assets. And never, ever beg the government to solve the problems it created.

You can’t reform a system that’s already dead. But you can survive its collapse—if you start preparing now.
