Trump and Trudeau’s Heated Tariff Call: Profanity, Politics, and Power Plays
A 50-minute phone call between former President Donald Trump and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau turned into a heated clash, reportedly laced with expletives, as the two leaders butted heads over trade tariffs. The Wall Street Journal, citing sources familiar with the call, confirmed that the discussion was both “colorful” and “very substantive.” Translation: things got ugly, and nobody backed down.
Trump, true to form, had slapped a 25% tariff on Canadian goods, triggering retaliatory tariffs from Trudeau. The boy prince of Canada, whose economy is teetering thanks to his disastrous policies, is scrambling to use the tariff battle as political ammunition for his re-election bid. And Trump? He sees right through it.
“Believe it or not, despite the terrible job he’s done for Canada, I think that Justin Trudeau is using the Tariff problem, which he has largely caused, in order to run again for Prime Minister,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “So much fun to watch!”
Not surprisingly, Trudeau confirmed that the trade war isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. “I can confirm that we will continue to be in a trade war that was launched by the United States for the foreseeable future,” he declared. Notice how he conveniently leaves out Canada’s own retaliatory tariffs. Classic Trudeau—playing the victim while cozying up to globalist overlords who want to see America’s economy kneecapped.
The Fentanyl Factor
While Trudeau blabbers about trade, Trump made it clear that Canada’s half-hearted attempt to curb the flow of fentanyl into the U.S. isn’t cutting it. The Canadian government, like its American counterpart under Biden, has shown a disturbing unwillingness to crack down on the trafficking of this deadly poison. Trump isn’t having it.
“Not good enough,” Trump reportedly told Trudeau when the Canadian PM tried to defend his weak enforcement efforts.
Of course, Trudeau won’t admit that his soft-on-crime policies and open-border sympathies have turned Canada into a drug corridor for Chinese-made fentanyl, which floods into the U.S., killing tens of thousands of Americans each year. But sure, let’s all pretend the tariffs are the real problem.
Mexico Gets a Pass—for Now
Meanwhile, Trump made a separate move, announcing that Mexico will be exempt from these tariffs—at least temporarily—under the United States–Mexico–Canada Agreement (USMCA). Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick hinted at the decision earlier in the day, and Trump made it official.
“My expectation is the president will come to the agreement today that USMCA compliant goods will not have a tariff for the next month until April 2,” Lutnick said.
Trudeau, realizing he’s getting played, tried to act cautiously optimistic, saying Lutnick’s comments “align with some of the conversations that we have been having with administration officials, but I’m going to wait for an official agreement.”
Yeah, good luck with that, Justin. Trump isn’t the type to let a weak leader like Trudeau dictate terms. The bottom line is simple: Trump holds the economic cards, and Trudeau knows it.
The Bigger Picture: Who’s Really in Control?
The real question here isn’t about tariffs or trade—it’s about control. Trump’s America-First stance shakes the foundation of the globalist order that Trudeau and his ilk desperately cling to. Trudeau and his backers in the World Economic Forum want nothing more than to keep America bogged down, dependent, and apologizing for its own economic strength.
Trump, on the other hand, plays by a different set of rules. He doesn’t care about globalist approval. He cares about American dominance. And when he gets back in office, expect more of these trade battles—because he knows that a nation that doesn’t control its own economic destiny isn’t a free nation at all.
What You Need to Do
Don’t think for a second that this is just about Trump and Trudeau yelling at each other. The larger war is over who controls your money, your economy, and your future. Governments are manipulating trade policies while quietly rolling out digital currencies like FedNow to tighten their grip on your financial freedom. That’s why you need to be prepared.
