This directive authorizes lethal force against civilians in “exceptional circumstances.” It’s written in sterile legalese but make no mistake: this opens the floodgates for the government to use military power against us, the people. This new development is a direct violation of the Posse Comitatus Act, a crucial law that prevents the military from acting as a domestic police force. The Act was specifically crafted to keep the government from deploying soldiers against its own citizens. Yet here we are—watching in real-time as the government tears up that law in the name of “security.” The implications are far more than just legal technicalities. This directive effectively undermines key protections in the Constitution itself—specifically the Fourth, Fifth, and First Amendments. Fourth Amendment: This directive could allow the military to engage in unreasonable seizures of American lives, bypassing due process entirely. Fifth Amendment: We are guaranteed protection from being deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process.
