According to court documents, Ortega-Lopez was living in a “casita” behind the Cano home—a little guest house on American soil provided by Nancy Cano, the judge’s wife. Let that sink in. While working-class Americans get priced out of housing, our judges are giving rent-free real estate to armed gang members from Venezuela.

Agents raided the home on February 28. What did they find? Four firearms, including weapons Ortega-Lopez bragged about handling on social media. These weren’t just props. They were tools of violence—allowed, encouraged, and shared by April Cano, the judge’s daughter.

This wasn’t a fluke. Ortega-Lopez told investigators he met Nancy while doing some glass work, got evicted, and was invited to stay by the Cano family. They brought him into their home, into their lives, and by extension—into the American justice system.

A Judicial System That Protects Criminals

When Ortega-Lopez appeared in court, U.S. Magistrate Judge Damian L. Martinez tried to play coy, asking if anyone knew Judge Cano. Then Martinez casually admitted, “I don’t think he would just let anybody live in his property.” Right. Because the judge’s judgment is supposed to be sacred? That blind trust is how the elite protect their own.

And what happened next? Ortega-Lopez was released back into the community. That’s right. Despite the weapons. Despite the gang affiliation. Despite the illegal entry into our country. He walked.
