The American people are waking up to the staggering level of waste inside their own government—thanks to the relentless exposure campaign led by Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). What Musk and the Trump administration are doing isn’t just about revealing waste; it’s a masterclass in public relations, setting the stage for a long-overdue restructuring of Washington’s bloated bureaucracy.
Americans are furious, and rightfully so. When they find out their hard-earned tax dollars are funding outrageous projects overseas, it fuels the momentum needed to finally take on the unchecked federal leviathan. Sure, in the grand scheme of a $6.9 trillion budget, some of these expenditures are a drop in the bucket. But that’s not the point. The point is to get people angry—because nothing changes in Washington unless the public demands it.
Here are just a few of the USAID boondoggles recently exposed:
You couldn’t make this up if you tried. It’s Monty Python-level absurdity, except it’s real, and you’re paying for it.
Trump understands something most politicians don’t: public pressure moves mountains. By exposing these ridiculous expenditures, he forces Congress to act—or at least makes it politically impossible for them to keep defending the status quo. This strategy was a hallmark of Reagan’s presidency, and now, Trump and Musk are taking it to the next level.
And this is just the beginning. When Musk and his team unleash their AI-driven forensic accounting on the Defense Department and Health and Human Services, expect to see government waste exposed on a scale that dwarfs even these USAID fiascos. Sure, it’s harder for the public to grasp how the Pentagon overpays for missiles or how Big Pharma rakes in billions from ineffective vaccines, but it’s easy to see the insanity of spending $1.5 million to push DEI in Serbian workplaces or $2.5 million on electric vehicle projects in Vietnam.
The numbers don’t lie. The U.S. is on an unsustainable financial trajectory:
At some point, reality has to set in. We cannot afford a federal workforce bloated with bureaucrats collecting million-dollar compensation packages. (Yes, the recently resigned head of the Tennessee Valley Authority was raking in $10.5 million per year.)
Democrats weren’t complaining when Bill Clinton cut 377,000 federal jobs. But now that Trump is trying to do the same? Suddenly, it’s a crisis. Remember when Clinton said, “The era of big government is over”? Back when Democrats had at least a shred of fiscal sanity?
Nobody could have predicted this team-up: a former Democrat-turned-populist president, a billionaire tech mogul who once voted blue, and a coalition that includes a Kennedy family member and a former Democratic congresswoman. But here we are.
This is what real change looks like. The permanent bureaucracy is panicking because, for the first time in decades, it’s facing an existential threat. The swamp creatures know their time is running out.
Trump and Musk must keep the pressure on—and so must we. The American people are awake, and they’re not going back to sleep. The next step? Protect yourself before Washington’s financial mismanagement collapses the system entirely.
