Now here’s the truth: China Is Trapped—and It Won’t Escape The fantasy of Chinese dominance hinges on its economy breaking out of the “middle-income trap.” Spoiler alert: it won’t. China made the leap from poor to middle class, sure—but going from $15,000 to $25,000 per capita GDP requires innovation, not imitation. And China doesn’t innovate. It copies, it steals, and then it collapses under the weight of its own inefficiencies. Despite its high-speed trains and monolithic infrastructure, over half of China’s investment is pure waste. Its population is shrinking rapidly, with over 300 million working-age people set to disappear over the next 40 years. Women don’t want children, and why should they? They’ve tasted education and urban life—and they’re not going back. Meanwhile, India has overtaken China as the world’s most populous country, a demographic shift that will only accelerate. That matters. Because without people, there's no productivity. And without productivity, there’s no growth. Military Might? A Paper Dragon Forget the propaganda. China’s lone aircraft carrier was built by Russia. Their hypersonic missiles make headlines, but the U.S. Navy could wipe out the entire Chinese fleet in a day—just like the U.S. did to Iran in 1988, or Japan did to Russia in 1905. An invasion of Taiwan? Theater. A bluff. Militarily, China remains decades behind, despite the Pentagon’s own internal rot. Society on the Brink As economic and geopolitical pressures intensify, social cohesion is unraveling fast. Wages go unpaid. Factories shut down. Youth unemployment hit 27% in 2024—and Beijing’s response was to stop reporting the number altogether. That’s not strength. That’s desperation. On February 10, there were widespread arson attacks on train stations and factories. Riots. Fires. Chaos. The regime is rattled. So what does the CCP do? It floods social media with fake videos of American shoppers supposedly rioting at Walmart—desperate to keep morale up while the floor collapses underneath them. And don’t overlook the Anti-Foreign Sanctions Law. It allows China to confiscate assets from any American company in China that complies with U.S. sanctions on countries like Iran or Russia. It’s not law—it’s hostage-taking. Corporate America is finally waking up to the risk of operating in a collapsing surveillance state. No Innovation, Just Corruption Even China’s much-touted tech prowess is being exposed for what it is: cut corners and counterfeit parts. When a Chinese-built high-rise collapsed in Thailand after a recent earthquake, it was discovered that the steel rebar was faulty and the concrete substandard. Chinese agents even tried to steal the building’s records before investigators arrived. This is how the CCP does business: lie, cheat, cover up. As for diplomacy? A recent Chinese state news story about invading Taiwan was so laced with vulgarities—“F*ck Taiwan,” “Taiwan sucks”—that it read like the rant of a drunk thug, not a global superpower. This isn’t propaganda. It’s panic. Tariffs and the Coming Financial Guillotine Trump’s tariffs are finishing the job. The loophole that let Chinese retailers like Temu and Shein dodge U.S. duties has been shut. Their sales are cratering. IPO plans are being postponed or canceled. And the WTO, once China’s golden ticket, is now circling the drain. Wall Street, long drunk on Chinese investments, is finally being leashed. The SEC may revoke exemptions that allowed Chinese companies to operate with impunity. Capital is being redirected back home. The CCP’s economic fuel lines are being cut—one by one.
